Theme: Let´s Celebrate. Week: From 11/27/2017 to 12/01/2017




What we are learning? 


Dear Parents,

We hope you have enjoyed as much as we did our Thanksgiving Celebration and that you are having a beautiful week. This week we are going to start a new theme called “Let’s celebrate”. Children will explore Christmas traditions and they will learn about how people celebrate the holidays. 

Through practical actions, we keep enlightening kids about the significance of holiday traditions. We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. A few of the activities children will enjoy are exploring the colors green and red which are colors that are traditionally associated with Christmas, listening to Christmas Carols, etc.

Please make sure to sign up your child for this wonderful activity! 

As you know, every week a child is given a set week that he/she are the student of the week. On Monday of their week, the student of the week should bring a poster and a book created with family pictures, favorite books, sports/hobbies, animals or anything they are interested in. Also, on their week parents and the student of the week may pick a day to present the poster and the book to the class. The student of the week may also bring favorite toys and books to school so they can share with classmates.

Friendly Reminders


· Wash your hands and your child’s hands when entering your child’s classroom.
· Make sure to wear shoe covers when entering the classroom to drop your child.
· Knock before entering the classroom to make sure there is no one behind the door
· Read, review and fill out your child’s journal with information for the teacher.
· Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has an extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.
· Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing.
· Always store pacifiers in their packages.
· Make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when bug spray, diaper cream, and any other ointment should be applied and be sure to supply and label the items with your child's name and place them in a tote bag.
· Bring diapers, wipes and rash ointment and label them with your child’s name when requested or needed.
· Label all bottles and food that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared and place them in the refrigerator or counter. If you leave the lunch box on the counter, make sure to put ice packs inside the lunch box. 
· Inform the teacher if there has been a change in your child’s feeding schedule. 
· Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.

Theme: My community and I. Week: From 11/20/2017 to 11/24/2017


What we are learning? 


Dear Parents,

We hope you are having a beautiful week. This is our last week of learning about “My Community and I”. We will learn a new weekly subtopic called “Our Neighborhood”. 

We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some of the activities children will enjoy this week are:

· Babies will play to be a chef and a fire fighter. They will show off their chef and fire fighter hats. 
· Older babies will touch homemade dough and feel the texture. 
· Children will get massage in feet and hangs to keep strengthening their motor skills.

We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. 

· Children will get hand and feet massage. 
· Children will do exercises with their legs. 
· Children will try to crawl. 
· Children will look at flashcards of community helpers and we will mention a few interesting things about them.

Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Some of the activities children will enjoy this week are:

· Children will look at flashcards related to the theme while listening to our song of the week. 
· Children will get massage in their feet. 
· Children will exercise their legs with the help of the teacher and we will pretend they are riding a bike.

Next week children will learn everything about our community helpers. They will also be exploring the community we are living through songs, games and other activities. 


We have scheduled exciting activities related to this theme so children can continue learning through fun experiences. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills. Children will look at flashcards and sing our song of the week. They will also receive massages in legs and arms.
